For every product that my team and I have created, we've built a simple email alert that gives us a detailed profile of each new user that signs up. These emails help us think about our users as real people with diverse backgrounds, trying to solve a specific problem. That's why they signed up for our products in the first place.
As Eric Ries says, "Metrics are people, too." With that in mind, my friend Zack Shapiro and I decided to partner up and build a simple SaaS tool you can use to get these alerts.
